Regent Lighting can offer you a lot of things. Our apprentices are trained to become competent and service-oriented specialists. Thanks to our big variety of departments which are visited within a rotation cycle of at least six months, we can guarantee you an exciting extensive basic training. Excursions and special occasions offer you a great opportunity for social contact. Detailed information about the different courses can be found below.

Business people (with Swiss federal certification, EFZ) – Specialization in service and administration

Job description

Business people work in different commercial sectors, which are divided into various areas. They assume administrative and organizational duties. For instance, they work at service or commercial operations, travel agencies or banks. Their main tasks include information processing, communication inside and outside an organization, order processing, customer consultancy, handling domestic and international orders, organizing meetings and events, etc. 

Duration

Computer scientist/with Swiss federal certification (EFZ) – Specialization in systems technology

Job description

Computer scientists specialised in systems technology are experts in the set-up, operation and maintenance of information systems. In general, they are responsible for the entire IT infrastructure. They install computers, servers and networks. They work in the areas of planning, installation, operation and maintenance of information networks and their applications. They handle hardware and software for individual and networked facilities and support users in problem resolution.

> Logistician/with Swiss federal certification (EFZ) - Specialization in inventory

Job description

As a logistician, you are responsible for the proper administration of goods. Logisticians receive goods, check them and prepare them for warehousing. Forklifts are used to stack and forward goods. Your duties include store-specific provision of goods and regular supervision of inventories. You will package and address goods, fill out delivery documents and load trucks professionally, safely and in accordance with requirements.

What materials should be included in your application?

Letter of motivation: 

In your letter of motivation, you indicate which apprenticeship position you would like to complete and why you are applying for a job at Regent and what appeals to you at Regent. The main component is a description of your favorite subjects, your interests and your abilities. If you have already completed pre-apprenticeships, language residencies or other similar programs, you can also tell us about those experiences. You should provide your signature on your letter of motivation.

Curriculum vitae: 

In your CV, it is important that you inform us about your personal information. Your educational history (the current academic year at the top) as well as any trainings, foreign residencies etc. should be clearly listed in chronological order in your CV. Other training courses, languages, computing abilities (10-finger system proficiency) can also be listed. We would also be interested in hearing about your hobbies.

Academic transcripts:

We look at an overview of your recent academic marks to assess the required acceptance criteria for your chosen apprenticeship.

Multi-check evaluation: 

In order to ensure neutral evaluation, we request that you send the multi-check for your selected apprenticeship, if available.

What happens after your materials are submitted?
  1. You will receive a confirmation immediately after receipt of your application
  2. We will check your application portfolio
  3. If your profile matches, we will invite you for an interview
  4. If qualified, you will do a 2-3 day pre-apprenticeship with us
  5. If everything proceeds successfully, we will then sign an apprenticeship contract
How can you prepare for the interview?

Prepare for possible questions:

  • Why are you the right person for the apprenticeship?
  • Also think about questions you have about your future training at Regent
  • Inform yourself about the vocational program and the various profiles
  • Arrive to your interview appointment on time, well-prepared and well-groomed, and bring a notebook and writing implement
